We'd also like to mention Brad
Facey and Lauren
Smith who were both members of relay teams
which made to State. Brad was part of the Caringbah 15
yr boys team which finished 5th in the final but were unfortunately
DQ'd. Lauren, who should
have swum in the 16's, actually swam up in the 17-19 relay for Sylvania
was also DQ'd. Congratulations to both of you
also for qualifying to swim at this level.

4th April 2003 – Presentation Night and A.G.M
Thank you to everyone for coming out in
such terrible weather and to everyone who organised the night and set up the
presentation and BBQ.
The full list of award winners is
published on the web site and will be posted on the notice board.
Congratulations to everyone for a great season and we hope to see you back for
Winter Club which will commence on Friday 2nd May 2003. Registrations will be
taken on the night and details will be posted on the web site and notice board.
The committee would like to thank our
older swimmers for their enthusiasm on Presentation night. The applause and
cheering that came from the back of the room was just great. It was wonderful to
hear you support each other but even better was the encouragement you gave to
the little kids. To these little ones you lot a probably one step away from the
Olympics (yeah, we know, we wish!). It
was a pleasure to watch all of you in action last night – maybe next time you
could give Lauren a seat of her own!
Last night we forgot one major award.
Brad Facey has set up and maintained our web site for 6 months – and we missed
him! Brad, your envelope is here and will be given to you ASAP. Thank you very
much – we really appreciate what you do for our club.
In May the District will be holding
lectures for Technical officials. We would encourage any parents out there, and
who are available on the second and fourth Monday evenings of May, to attend. It
is a major benefit to our club to have that extra knowledge on pool deck. Please
see Helena or Debbie if you can attend.
Congratulations also to all our swimmers
who attended CHS State and to those of you who will be at PSSA State next week.
Have a great break – see you in May!
